A few of my favorite projects here. A series of unique design projects that illustrate the interdisciplinary and creative mind at work…
Poetry Dog Tags
Poetry you can wear!
Every designer dreams of creating a mass-market product of their own, and with Poetry Dog Tags, I finally got my chance! Inspired by my years at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in NYC, I thought it would be great to be able to wear a poem around your neck, and wear a new poem every day. Published by Chronicle Books, Poetry Dog Tags were featured in bookstores and gift retailers around the world. They are no longer available from Chronicle, but you can still find new ones on eBay.
The Dog Tag Poetry Book
Artist and Photographer Bonnie J. Schupp used the Poetry Dog Tags to create a 365 day photographic and poetry challenge using the Dog Tags as inspiration. The result is an eBook called “Dog Tag Poetry” that is filled with Bonnie’s gorgeous photographs and haiku poetry. A few of my favorite poems/photos from the book pictured above.

The Vanishing Functions Postcard (1994)
I’ve included this project because I’ve always felt the idea is still really important after all these years.
Chosen as one of the winners in a Architects, Designers, Planners for Social Responsibility Postcard competition. Created in the idea that computers would mean vanishing functions of our humanity, and a hopeful warning that we must always connect with the human heart and mind.
